Debugging and data logging with two i/o pins

Don't always have a lot of time for reading, but one blog I try to keep up with is Jack Ganssle's Embedded Muse blog; you just never know when something really useful or as in this case, a why didn't I think of that way back when I was working on xxxxx widget? Sort of moment.
