A rare insider look: Ten years ago, I made this game prototype for an unspecified (!) company. The goal to pick up as many cars as possible before they get dumped in the "incinerator". A single BS-2 controls timing of the motors (it speeds up as the game goes on) and generates all the sound effects. Not too shabby for a BS-2! Of course this was the Cadillac version; downstream of me it was cost reduced it to almost nothing. My best stuff was always on the cutting room floor. Flamethrowers and all!
"When you make a thing, a thing that is new, it is so complicated making it that it is bound to be ugly. But those that make it after you, they don’t have to worry about making it. And they can make it pretty, and so everybody can like it when others make it after you."
