adafruit serial backpack with clk, dat and Iat

Hi,
Just trying to get the adafruit SPI backpack to work, but I don’t know how to set up a simple hello to the BS2. I will only send out words to the display, so no input will be used. Thought it should be easy with serial backpack device, but involve clk, dat and lat was to much. If someone have a clue about how to initiate and which command I should use to write words to be displayed, that would really help. I have tried SEROUT with no luck. I appreciate all help and thoughts!
