THE BEST WAY TO LEARN PROGRAMING Activity Bot or Propeller Microcontrollers.

I HAVE BOE-BOT ROBOT SCRIBBLER ROBOT V1.AND SOME MICROS BS2 , BS2PX
ARDUINO ROBOT , AND SOME ARDUINO MICROS LEONARDO NANO MEGA UNO
ActivityBot Robot , I HAVE 2 KITS.
REFRENCE: I HAVE USED PARALLAX PRODUCTS ABOUT 20 YEARS EXCELENT QUALITY PRODUCTS.
PARALLAX:
I HAVE PROGRAMMED BOE-BOT WITH THE FOLLOWING EXCELENT AND WONDERFUL BOOKS OF ANDY LINDSAY ALL ARE SYSTEMATIC ORDERED STEP BY STEP ANY CAN DO IT IS CLEAR IN EXCESS. ALSO I HAVE USED TIPS PARALLAX FORUMS
YOUTUBE VIDEOS ETC.... I HAVE UNDERSTAND ALL I HAVE LEARNED TO MUCH ABOUT BS2.
ARDUINO:
I HAVE PROGRAMMED ALSO IN C LENGUAJE FOLLOWING SOME TUTORIALS AND MAKING A LOTS OF PROGRAMS I HAVE USED ALSO ARDUINO BO-SHIELD TUTORIALS AND ARE VERY GOOD TOO.I DID NOT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH IT.

ActivityBot.
THIS KITS IS VERY COMPLETE KIT I LIKE IT. IS POWERFUL WITH 8 CORES. I HAD FOLLOWED ALL TUTORIALS USING IDE PROGRAMMING EDITOR. ALL OPERATE OK. IT IS OK. BUT IS MORE COMPLETE AND COMPLEX THAN OTHER MICROS
I HAD MADE A LOT OF PROGRAMS BUT I FEEL I DO KNOW WITH DEEPTH PROGRAMMING THIS ROBOT DUE IT HAS A LOT
OF WAYS OF PROGRAMMING AN SINCERLY I HAD A LOT OF QUESTIONS BECAUSE I HAD USED THE LIBRARIES ALL TIME
BUT A LOT OF TIMES I HAD ERROR WHEN COMPILING PROGRAMS.
ESCUSEME FOR THE BIG EXPLANATION I DID ABOUT MY HISTORY PROGRAMMING , ALL IS A REFERENCE ONLY.

FINAL QUESTION:

I HAVE A QUESTION FOR ALL EXPERTS OR PEOPLE WITH BIG KNOWLEMENTS ABOUT PROGRAMING PROPPELER CHIPS
WHICH IS THE BEST WAY TO PROGRAM PROPELLER CHIPS WITH MORE DEPTH AND DETAIL.
WHAT METHOD ES BEST RECOMMENDED TO LEARN MORE TO PROGRAMMING PROPELLER CHIPS BELIVE ME
I AM SOME LOST WHITH PROPELLER.
THE IDE IS OK BUT HAS A LOT OF LIBRARIES BUT ALSO I HAVE A LOT OF QUESTIONS.

I HOPE ANY ANSWER I WILL APPRESIATE IT.
MY BEST REGARDS.

For becoming familiar with the propeller architecture and programming I would say learning Spin and PASM is the way to go. There are a lot of Objects and projects that you can use and study the code to become familiar with the propeller.

If the goal is a career as a programmer then learning C might be a better starting point.

Last, but far from least, if the goal is to develop and debug microcontroller hardware and software you may want to consider learning Tachyon Forth. It's very compact and interactive nature makes it a very powerful development system.
  • THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR TIPS . IT IS USEFULY FOR ME I TAKE CARE OF THIS.
    MY BEST REGARDS.
AGAIN THANKS FOR YOUR TIME. I APPRESSIATE YOR TIPS.

    Easy.

Get yourself a Propeller on whatever board or robot you like. Get yourself the Propeller Tool IDE (If you are using Windows) or SimpleIDE (if using Linux). Get yourself the Propeller manual.

If you can do C or Python or whatever you can pick up Spin easily.

For maximum performance you will need to learn Propeller assembler (PASM). But that is one of the easiest machine codes I have ever seen.

Oh, try not to make posts all in UPPERCASE :)
  • Thanks Heater for your Tips , i am programming now with Simple IDE in windows is a matter of custom to it but is very practical a lot of things are similar to C Lenguage and some mixed with pbasic per example pause, freqout, high , low and function with void is almost equal to Arduino C lenguage.
I will take your tips also.

    Thanks
    Regards

  • I have a list of links to Spin and PASM tutorials here.

I learned Spin from the original Propeller Manual (1.0) (there's a link to a pdf file of this manual in the list mentioned above).
