RAM checksum error? — Parallax Forums

RAM checksum error?

I have just run into this error and found it may be a faulty chip, but I want to see if there is a way to verify this. I have just finished 5 identical boards and 4 out of the 5 worked perfectly. The chip is the QFP package and I double checked all the solder points and ensured their is no bridging or cold solder points. Anything else I can try before tossing this IC?

Is the problem when you download the code to RAM?
Otherwise, it could be the eeprom.
Need more info about how you get this error.
  • When I tried to program it, I got the error. I did not try to replace the EEPROM since the RAM is inside the PROP.

Then I presume you mean it failed to download to ram (ie not download to eeprom)?

If so, and the same code works to other boards, then yes the prop has a dead ram :(
It would be the first one like this I have heard of.
