Nice features. Missing just one thing David. If you can, please add an optional wait for prompt string between line-feed terminated strings sent from a text file. This would give cheap scripting ability (don't need variables, etc...).· Please please :)

David, a small complaint. If I click on the input text box and hit Enter on my keyboard, LF or CR do not go out to the serial port. I've tried selecting CR/LF checkboxes on the GUI though I'm not sure now why they are there.

Hi Praxis

Thanks.
My idea was to have send TXT file in Butons but Yours decision is fine.

One idea till send file I have to ad Wait states with Character and separate on CR/LF to emulate Hand typing on it.

Just for reference, the program is clean (no virus). Here is the thread that followed...

PropView is Clean. It is detected FALSE POSITIVE by Kaspersky KIS 8.0

HI Sapieha,

Come to think of it that is a function I could use as well, in my situation I often send NMEA GPS strings for example and having it on a repeating interval is a good idea. I will see what I can do in the next day or so.

I am also thinking about adding a save screen to text file button.

Cheers.

Hi Sapieha,

I think I will do something like this for the repeat;

Add a button Repeat on the main menu and in the setup window you can enter a repeat interval time.

Clicking the Repeat button will then repeat the last string sent i.e one of the button strings etc.
Clicking the Repeat button again will turn off repeat.

Cheers.

It is very fine solution.

My one idea to scren save.
Why Not have XXX.LOG file

·

Ps. It will be NOT only PropVeiwer but also·PropViewer and Tester.

Nice work David (Praxis) roll.gif

There is something not quite right about the sending "now" and the "cr" functions. I would expect when "now" is checked ("cr" & "lf" should remain unchecked) that all characters (alphanumeric, enter, esc but not Fx keys, etc) entered on the keyboard should be sent out individually. This does not happen when the enter key is pressed (i.e. cr is not sent). I am trying to drive it just like the PST (i.e. a dumb terminal).

Is it possible (in settings) to have a selection for smaller font? When you have lots of windows open and trying to compare debug data to that previously saved (in notepad) smaller font is necessary.

I notice that you've switched to using an .msi file for distributing PropViewer. If it's still possible to run PropViewer under Mono, could you please include a standalone version in the .zip archive to make it easier to use PropViewer with Mono (without first installing it under Windows). Thanks.

Hi Praxis.

Very Nice Work !

I have not any problem to instal and run.
If I find any bug else litle more to ad I write to You.

I have only one little question on Repeat settings.
In many circumstances it is usable to have one timing on single character and any other on line complete

Regards Christoffer

Great work David - cannot wait for the IDE!!! - keep it coming (and where do you get the time from???) smile.gif

Once I've finished on the Interpreter and pasm and spin debuggers, I will begin on the top section of the debuggers (in VB on the pc). I'll try to keep it so that it can be incorporated into a combined IDE / compiler / debugger. cool.gif

Problem resolved... my fault

I was sure that I had already installed DotNet when in fact I hadn't.
Suggestion: a graceful exit if DotNet isn't found?

Looks like a very nice program. I like the PST mode! Is there a place to
set the various control characters like PST as well?

Looking forward to your IDE. Nice Job!!
