Project Description:

We have some sensors hooked up to a multiplexer, the control lines of the
multiplexer is controlled by a microcontroller. The controller checks each
gate, if voltage goes low we know at what address the disconnection is at.
The controller then sends the address to our PC, via a serial port (?) and
our program takes over from there.

Any ideas on controller to use?
Know if controllers can be donated?
If not, what are some prices?

Do you have more detailed infromation on your design you can share such as
schematics, parts etc...?
