Hi everybody,

I recently ordered a 25th Anniversary Mystery Bag, and the PIR sensor I received has a large dent in the side of it. Does anyone know if it will still work, and if I can fix it?

The plastic dome should pop off and you can "press" it back to it's original shape. I actually stepped on mine and it still worked with no problems.

I'm having a really difficult time popping off the plastic dome. Is it just the dome that comes off, or the white square base as well?

I am pretty sure the dome just popped off. It may have been sealed with something and broke when I stepped on it, but it popped right out for me.

The white plastic part (the dome and square base) is all one piece. There are four small nubby pins, one at each corner that are inserted into holes in the PC board. In addition, some kind of glue was used to attach each corner. If you're careful, you can push one of the pins up from the bottom side, enough to slide a thin blade under the edge of the white plastic part (you may not need to push the pin up if you use a small enough knife blade) and from there you can gently pry it up by working around the edges. Be careful not to apply too much force or it may break the plastic. Also, be careful of bending any of the capacitors on the bottom of the board.

Thanks guys! I pushed up the pins from the back of the board with a small screwdriver, and then pried the plastic off with my fingernail. It was easier than I thought!
