software Windows 2000 Compatable?

Hi
I just got a basic Stamp IIsx and installed the software that came on a CD
with it. I am running Windows 2000. I did not have any success installing
the 1.09 version of the software, but I did get the 1.04 to run on my
system. When I try to upload a program onto my system, it complains that it
found a chip on COM1 but to check power supply. I am using a brand new 9v
to power the development board the chip came with. Does anyone know of any
compatability issues with the software and windows 2000?
