Any workaround for DS2760 Thermocouple Kit

Hello

Is there any workaround for DS2760 Thermocouple Kit for a BS2 ? I see mine isnt on the list.


When using a BASIC Stamp microcontroller a BS2p series module is required. Supporting modules are BS2p24, BS2p40, BS2pe24 and BS2px24

Searching the forums brought this up.

The DS2480(b) is a chip that converts from RS232 to 1-Wire, and can only be used as a master.(It does in hardware what the BS2p's OWIN/OWOUT instructions does in software)

The reason you can't find info on connecting 1-wire devices to a BS2 is that it doesn't work. The BS2 doesn't have the capability to do the necessary timing for the 1-wire protocol. It's possible to use an external serial to 1-wire converter like the DS2480B and Embedded Data Systems has a very nice finished serial to 1-wire adapter (www.embeddeddatasystems.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=HA7S&Categor y_Code=HA&Product_Count=4) that I've used in the past.
