    You should directly ask Parallax. I think this is a question which can't be answered generally in a forum but depends on who asks for what reason and if it's possible to sign a contract that protects property of parallax.

    Probably chip-on-board - putting a whole system on a tiny substrate with connections between dice and other parts made by wire-bonding. The PCB software I use has a COB option.

    I'm sure it could be arranged for suitably large quantities. Currently, as I understand it, Parallax has a contract for services where Parallax supplies wafers to a company that separates the chips, tests them, then packages them in specific packages. Parallax would have to arrange with them to provide some quantity of loose chips after testing and, since there's not a big market for the chips, there would have to be suitable commitments for quantity purchase.
