Hi all,

one more info about the easyPROP.
I changed the Conec Ethernet connector to an AutoMDIX MagJack from Stewart.
The AutoMDIX magjack has some additional logic inside which will automatically swap the cable for you if needed. In other words you can always use a straight cable no matter if you connect to a Hub/Switch or directly to a computer.

best regards
Franz

@Doug

the ENC28J60 Ethernetchip takes about 140mA.
When powering the Board via USB nothings gets hot.
The ENC28J60 becomes a bit warm but not hot !!!
When powering the board by using an Universal AC-DC Adapter its important
that the DC Supply Voltage is set not higher then 9 VDC because of the LM2937 5.0.

@Alberto

The empty boards are allready available and some special parts (SD Slot and MagJack).
In about 2 weeks complete soldered boards will be available, too.

best regards
Franz

Just curious - how does the xbee connect with the audio jack in it's spot? use 2mm standoff headers? (does headers at 2mm exist? They must. :-) )

Franz,
I have to say - I have this board almost 2 weeks now - It is my default test bed .... really handy as the USB powered option makes it simplicity in itself - I can't recommend it highly enough ! A really neat bit of kit ..

thats right, but i do accept PayPal.

Ken Gracey from Parallax, asked for an easyPROP board, too, for feature it on their web site.

Maybe the easyPROP will be available for the US and Canada guys via Parallax in the future.

But i don't know, yet. We will see what happens.

Hi,

My EasyProp board arrived here a few days ago.

The board powered up and worked "out of the box"

I am gradually working through all the extensive features

So far everything I have tried has worked well, including the Tcp/IP stack and the web server!

I am most impressed.

Thank you very much Franz.

Patrick

p.s. I have no connection with Franz otherwise than as a satisfied customer and a fellow Propeller user. :p
