OBC,

The wife and I are in.

Do we have a deal again with Staybridge? They were awesome. I really liked them and I know the wife will also.

I was able to book my suite at StayBridge and they gave me the same rate as last year. Their # is 916-781-7500.

Now my wife's boss is giving her the business about taking a full week off at the end of their fiscal quarter.... :-(

Indeed, Staybridge is the best hotel near Parallax. They have a complete breakfast, comfortable lounge, new rooms, and really fair prices. You can also walk to Parallax from this particular hotel. We've seen many new hotels open up only to get dirty and run-downed pretty quickly. I've been telling the desk clerks every time I go why we stay there in hopes that they maintain the same level of quality.

The hotel is very nice with great breakfast. Did anybody else walk to Parallax from the hotel last time? I think it was just me...

Only trouble I had is that the taxi driver couldn't find the hotel... The hotel is in kinda a strange spot, behind a strip mall... I think you can see it from the interstate though, if you know where to look...

I agree, the hotel was comfortable - and I had may great chats with Peter and Old Man Earl in the breakfast area too :-)

Well, I think WestJet flies to San Fran, which is about a 3.5hr bus ride / drive from Parallax...

Or really cheap flight to Reno, about 4hr by bus / car.

Keep us posted when you start thinking about table arrangements. I know from last year there was a lack of table space while some tables weren't utilized completely. I have a 2.5'x6' folding table I would like to bring for this year. I may be able to make a little room for someone else on it as well.

Also, I may request a speaking spot, but will wait til it gets a little closer. I think one of my Propeller Contest entries would make a decent topic, but it might be completely detailed on my website before the expo which would make it a waste of a speaking spot. Maybe you could do a poll on what people would like to see from speakers?

Bill: FYI: you can get to Parallax in about 2.5 hours from Reno or SF.

Hold the phone there.. Wait a second! No one gets out that easy.. :)

We've got a 24+ hour expo happening at Parallax. We've got plenty of room for speakers. :)

Unless you drive like my 99-year-old grandmother drives, it's only about a 2 hour max drive from the Bay Area to Rocklin. I regularly do the Bay Area to Sacramento drive in under 90 minutes.
