I'm concerned (I think).

I've gone and made this forum my home page in my browser.. got to get my fix..

(I sniff about in some of the others {Sandbox,Sensors,Completed projects}, but this was/is always the first page I go to when I'm on-line)

Perhaps I should have made "IHaveAnAddicition.com" my home page instead?..

Please tell me I'm not the only sad one here....

Nah, you're not the only one.

If you always do what you always did, you always get what you always got.lt's not particularly silly, is it?

along with other sites, like digg.com, tomshardware.com, etc...
I have parallax forums as one of the websites that I have as a home page.

No, its perfectly normal to be enthusiastic about electronics.

You must be mixing something up ... the propeller IS the therapy.

How else would you survive the dayly madness of life? Children watching TV the whole day doing nothing creative need therapy.

I don't have the forum set as my homepage but I do have Parallax.com set as my home page. This helps to insure that I check out the deal of the day ever day. 8-p Then from there I click on the forum link to get to here.

"No, its perfectly normal to be enthusiastic about electronics." I have never met a woman that would say that.

It is the therapy that I really on. Without it I, and the two bunnies, would loose our tentative grip on reality in this house.

Your addiction is dangerously out of control.
As your therapist, I highly recommend that you break this cycle of self-destruction immediately and go "cold turkey".
You must isolate yourself from the Propeller as soon as possible.
Do not delay.
Pack up all of your Propeller chips at once and send them to me for safe keeping.

Trust me. I know what I'm doing here.

Errm; yeah - My name's Simon and I have PFA (Propeller Forum Addiction). I have it on my quick launch bar, and I spend waaaay too much time using it - in fact I have PFA so bad I rarely get to actually code for my Propeller! I kid you not :-(

Now - I'm off to read "What if I _need_ an interrupt?" LOL

Cheers,
Simon

microcontrolled

Getting close to a bit too much detail there. Theres no need to increase the need for therapy.

So far I've found a few ways to handle this addiction here...

Having a Propeller in my laptop bag with a USB video capture cable.
(Having the forums open, propeller powered up, and Spin editor minimized reduces the DT's)

Formation of the "Unofficial Propeller Expo"
(Attending a Propeller expo is serious "junkie fix")

Boxes from Parallax
(New toys which can attach to the Propeller also help.)

As my number of posts approached 2048 (a nice power of 2), I considered going cold turkey. No luck :)
Jan 7. 2000 I finally quit smoking after 10 years of thinking about it; having a good reason was the cure.
I haven't found a good enough reason to willingly, permanently quit visiting this forum. Still, there is hope.

I never furn off my home PC, just goes to sleep from time to time means that the browser is running all the time. Let's see: Google mail, Facebook, This forums, Altera's web site, Micron's, Xilinx', Digikey, eevblog and OpenCores... I don't see a pattern here, do you ? :-). Tomorrow I'll add GirlGenius, Badische Zeitung, and who knows what else.
If I'm at the uni, I always have this forums open. And I also spend more time than coding :-(,

Holly: we need more women like you.

My wife seems to think it is a bad addiction.

Best thing I found was to have parallax email my blackberry and subscribe to interesting threads. That way I only check when someone responds.
