Wow, I really should be charging more! I already have requests for 50 of the 100 units I have on hand!
I'm a little overwhelmed right now...

Good news is that I think my shipping scheme is going to work, at least for domestic, still need to see how it goes with international shipping...

Now that I'm selling some displays for real, I suppose it's time to post some code...

Here's the source code for the "Paint!" demo that lets you draw on the screen in a few colors

using a stylus (see screenshot in top post):

It's probably not all that polished, but will give you something to get started with...

Completed my order. $5 is a great price and I can see lots of places to put them at that price. $15 however limits places I can put it but still good price.

propmod_us and propmod_1x1 are in stock. Only $30. PCB available for $5

Want to make projects and have Gadget Gangster sell them for you? propmod-us_ps_sd and propmod-1x1 are now available for use in your Gadget Gangster Projects.

I'm almost sold out of my box of 100...

I sure hope people realize that these are bare displays with just the FPC cable... You'll need some kind of board to make them work!

I'm working on a breakout board, but it's still a couple weeks away from mass production...

Go for it! I'd much rather have someone else making, populating, and selling those things...
I'd really like to concentrate on PSB...
But, I felt sorry for all those poor LCDs being destroyed...

then don't let them. At $5 I am sure you can sell thousands. I know early next year I am going to be looking for hundred or so cheap touch screens and I am sure more will also.

Since you are offering to sell the screens so cheap I am offering to design the breakout pcb for cost. If there are enough orders I can get them populated cheap also. I am not offering to sell these individually myself I have bigger products to work on.

I still need to pay you... Is it OK if I pay you when the breakout board comes out? That way you can get it all in one shipping, and I know I will need a breakout board. I just wanted to reserve my screens before they are all gone!

This sounds like a cool deal to get into.

Rayman....are you considering to get more of the displays?

I could do a surface mount design (maybe mctrivia is considering us for assembly)......and get some breakout boards in the works.

MC, let me know if we were in on the consideration.

I have heard that there are many, many more available. But, I haven't heard yet when I'll get another shipment...
I'm sitting on 50 of the "like new" variety, reserving them for my PSB board. But, it seems like people are more
interested in the lower cost of a "used" display...

Matt,

I would stick to a simple breakout board for now...and expand on that if Rayman gets more screens. You will reduce costs, and prevent risks of having a EOL item.

I would also go with option 2, but later make a board that had the prop, crystal, SD card, etc. and put a 2x20 header on it so it could plug into option 2.
