I'm new in Parallax. Starting work with S2 robot. I need to emulate Bee Bot functionality by using IR TV control or audio tones. All the best for this community !
Have fun! The S2 is a great robot platform for experimentation. The IR obstacle detection circuitry can be used for IR remote control and the built-in microphone can be used for tone detection when the S2 is stopped (so there's no noise from the motors).
Excellent, thanks Mike !!! Where do you recomend me to access, in order to know about the criteria to select the best programming C/Spin/etc environment and all the details on sensor addressing?
The S2 webpage in Parallax's store has links to all the documentation. Start there. There are several objects in the Propeller Object Exchange for working with IR remote controls (see this and this and this). There was a thread in the Propeller 1 forum with some speech recognition (or tone recognition) experiments using a Goertzel algorithm for the signal processing. You might try to find that.
I suggest posting your questions in the Propeller forum or the Robotics forum. This blog is not the best way to get help and there can be a lot of spam posted at times.
Thanks again, Mike !!!
