newbie with a question

Hello,
My name is Marcel and i am new here,·last februari i have ordered the·Discovery Kit·and the Boe Bot full kit, i have·finished the·WAM but i have a little problem, i have the Board of Education USB version, and when i am loading a program into the Basic Stamp from my Laptop (HP nx9010)·i get very often the message Hardware communication failliure. Check serial or power cable! when i load the program again (without changing anything) a get the message again sometimes 4 times, the next day i get no message? What can i do wrong?

Go into Device Manager of Windows, open the properties of the COM port that's been assigned, under Port Settings, go to Advanced and turn down the FIFO buffer.
