Problems with Infrared sensors

We are a high school class using the Boe-Bots in our project for the year. We are starting to use the infrared sensors to make it so the Boe-Bot will be able to manuever around objects etc.. The sensors were both working on two different Boe-Bots, but now the left ones on both Boe-Bots aren't working anymore. We have tried testing the breadboards with a multimeter and everything came up fine so we are perplexed. Any help is much appreciated. Thank You.

    Andy's Robotics book, Chapter 7, provides a simple program to test the IR sensors. I will attach it an maybe it will be some help to identify the problem. You will have to make the pin numbers match your pins of course.

    The attached code is right out of the book. We used it this morning in our class.

    One other note to add, is that you·want to make sure that you don't twist the leads together on the infrared LED.· You can use shielding from a jumper wire to help make sure that they don't touch one another.

    Thank you for all of your help. We determined that there was some sort of conflict with the sensors and the line follower module that we had recently installed, but not used. Now that we have determined that there was a conflict and temporarily rectified the situation, we aren't sure if our solution is permanent. We have the sensors in pins 0, 2, 8, and 10 which seems to resolve our problem. Does the line follower occupy all of the even pins? Thanks again!
