Any idea why this suddenly happened (about 2 days ago)? Or is it just me?

Not for me...In fact, I STILL see a message in the archives that I cannot mark as read...So the archives forums always looks as if it has new messages.

Sometimes when I bring up the board, it shows me as not logged in.

this is where I see the forums all as having been read.· But like Chris, I can make them all "read" except for the archives.

The BASIC Stamps archive has a known issue with the state of new messages. The very last message that was imported is always seen as new. I have looked at the issue and have not (yet) been able to find the cause. It is certainly something slightly broken within the database and I am still looking for it.

    Jim,

I may be stating the obvious, but have you noticed the date of the last post in topic list screen for the Archive Forum? It is 5/15/2013 11:40 AM. That's certainly in the future.

Yes, I know about the date. The date stamp on the actual message is reasonable. The 2013 date is coming from some dark place becasue I have not been able to find it in the database. I'm working backwards to see how this system actually decides if a message is unread for a specific member.

Oh well. Like I said, I was stating the obvious. But sometimes we overlook the obvious until it bites us in the butt. smile.gif

Bring a flashlight for those dark corners.

    Cheers,

Whatever it was is now fixed. Must be magic.
