  I was mulling over the idea of creating a bot (for the SX contest) which in itself is a stable platform (ie a standard 3 or more wheel bot) but had tilt sensors and accelerometer, so that when you placed it on a ball it would remain on top and could navigate in any direction without falling off. But I dropped the idea in favor of a more utilitarian application.

  Okay, hitting refresh several times it finally came up...Very interesting, except one thing...This unit cannot climb slopes due to the way it keeps it's balance...

  No doubt it's a nice concept, but I do have to admit a little disappointment when I got to the FAQ section and it said no inclines...Ah well...In all fairness, most places robots work don't have inclines anyway.

  Try to make a pair of legs that can balance an inverted pendulum.
  
  The inverted pendulum then can be replaced by the top part of the robot.
