Connector hole pattern

Howdy Stampers,

I am looking for a male db9 connector or a
rj-14 connector or such that I can mount to
a PCB with straight connections without the
staggered hole pattern. Unless the board is
geared for it, the staggered hole pattern
does not work with the standard .100 (100 mil)
matrix hole spacing of the boards I have.
Does anyone know of a manufacturer that
accomodates a connector that will plug
directly into a solderless breadboard?

Thanks,
Bandit

    Bandit,

Our ASP-II brings the pins that are important for the Stamp into a straight
format for a breadboard. In particular, it connects 2, 3, 4, 5, and shorts 6
    & 7.

    http://www.al-williams.com/awce/asp2.htm

Meant for Stamp prototyping, but I use it to connect all sorts of serial
    stuff to a breadboard.

    Al,

Thanks for the quick reply and that looks like the
puppy I had in mind but ouch! $15?

    I could buy 4 AVR's for that!

Looks like I may be breaking out some pliers and bending
the pins of a regular db9 to fit.

Well, you get the lab manual with projects, a battery connector, and our
    nice support :-)

I used a dual-row 10-pin header and ribbon cable connector for my board --
works like a charm. The other end of the ribbon cable has a DB9 connector.

See a photo of my processor board at:

    Rodent,

········Would youtell us where you got the connectors that you used on your processorboard for the motor, I/R and ultrasonic hook-ups?· Did they come asmatched sets - male and female?

    Thanks,

    Tim

Available from Mouser. You buy the header, connector shell and contacts
separate. I ordered 10 of each header and shell, and 150 of the contacts I
think it works out to about 50 cents per connector.

Headers (the part with the pins that goes on the board)
    4-pin header 538-22-23-2041
    3-pin header 583-22-23-2031

Connector Housing (the part that plugs into the header)
    4-pin 538-22-01-3047
    3-pin 538-22-01-3037

Contacts (the part the wire is soldered to that fits in the shell)
