How do you write a persistent number or string to upper eeprom address when programming chip?

Let's say there is unused space starting at $7000 and I want to write some numbers there when I flash the prop. Is there a way to include that in the payload from within the spin program?
Right now if I write something there after flashing the prop the next time I flash the prop that data is cleared out.
