Mark, that looks good. I'll give it a shot tomorrow...

    Got the Ping sensor working.
It now does some move when senses...
The Ping seems to have an LED that shines a bit through Botto's head, so you can see when it is looking...

I've imported all of Zowi's moves now.
If I had a Bluetooth module, I guess could use the Zowi app to control it...

    Excellent!

I looked at your code yesterday. Will have to replace the arduino nano board in my Otto asap :)

Nice job Rayman, love that Botto!

    Thanks!
Here's an improved version of the Spin code.
Now does all of Zowi's moves.
Also has Mark's Spin sine code which is actually faster than the way I was doing it with assembly. He really saved me from some brainwork there :)
  • Glad its of use.

    Printing out revised hardware...

Tried one set of wider feet that was a disaster as they interfered with each other and broke itself... This set just goes out a bit more, not anymore inward.

There are also Lego Duplo compatible nibs on the sides and maybe on the head too.

The Activity Board fits perfectly inside now.

Added slots to the back of the body to help put nuts on servo screws where it is tight.

Added a blocks to secure the Parallax 5-cell battery holder in place. I think there is actually room for full size arm servos inside the head.

There's a hole in the head for connecting USB cable so you can program without removing the head. You do have to remove head to get to power switch though.

Anyway, hope to get hardware finalized and posted to Thingiverse this weekend.

    Testing out the new features:

Movements look same or better except for moonwalk... Have to take a closer look at that...

  • Nice movement. Can't decide if those arms suggest fiddler-crab or ballroom dancing most!

    \o/
I already was looking for short fiddler-crab clips but couldn't find a cute and(!) short one...

Here's how I could fit internal arm servos (see attached).
These could swing arms forward and back.
Would need servos in the arms in order to be interesting, I think.

But, my Activity board only has one servo header free...
I also wish it had a through hole audio connector so I could attach speakers.
Could make it play music and dance to it...

    WOW! So much better Ray.

Nice fluid movement. The Lego additions are great. Have to do this to my Otto ;)

    Go Rayman go!

A whole lot of moves, great addition of the claw bucket just on one side, instant character refinement

Think this initial design is solid enough to publish, so just put onto Thingiverse.
Going to start a new thread so that info can be in first post...
