Macaroon is our new family member today, I have lots of Scratch programming to do. I/O training.
"When you make a thing, a thing that is new, it is so complicated making it that it is bound to be ugly. But those that make it after you, they don’t have to worry about making it. And they can make it pretty, and so everybody can like it when others make it after you."

You shouldn't have suggested that. It's all I can think about now!

JK, it's a pity that PETA's such a PITA, said Peter to the PotUS.

She's got a very healthy purr and of course the twins asked WHY. A little Googling turns up some surprising info that purring is a status indicator for kittens, a homing beacon for mothers, and a way to stimulate endorphins for calming and healing. That sure beats a robot's LED status light and IR homing beacon in my e-book.

Maybe there's a market for a purring robot cat for therapy and companionship, along the lines of the Paro seal. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/news/video-1124231/Robot-baby-seal-Paro-helps-elderly-dementia-patients-Hong-Kong.html
Of course I also foresee robotic cat toys, servos wiggling yarn & feathers, rustling paper bags and opening flaps in cardboard boxes. Might be time for Macaroon to have her own Youtube channel.

Also normal. I also arranged for that to happen, the kitten that is.

Has it crawled on your shelves yet, cats make toys out of almost anything.
Good luck with your new family member, keep the cat hair out of the gear motors!
Cat & dog fur in the gears & axles remains the #1 reason for "defective" returns of battery-op toys!

No sooner said than done. Not sure what I did to warrant a free online subscription to MAKE magazine, but today's issue has a $500 DIY smart laser toy for cats. And from the looks of that fat cat, he's in serious need of some exercise.

Do not look directly into laser with remaining good eye...
Super lanky and muscular, she can jump anywhere, anytime. Gotta go, she's watching me now. Huge eyes. Butt & tail are twitching. Think she knows I'm...
