Breadboarding Basic Stamp 1 and Basic Stamp SX

Anybody gotten one to work without the external oscillator?

Seems like most PIC's that will run without one but can be 'optioned' with an external timer to run faster.

At 4mz with it's kind of scary to think what speed it would run a without.

The standard BS1 and Basic SX both come with on board oscillators. Are you talking about OEM?

Yes Publison. DIP, PDIP.

Does the Stamp 1 'OEM' have an internal oscillator on it?

I couldn't even find a schematic for it at Px.com.

Like PIC's. Internal resonator/oscillator.

Then if you want to 'go faster' you add an external resonator.

Backup plan is to just get 5v and a serial interface to it and see what happens.
