RFID USB reading junk

Hello Parallax!
My RFID USB reader is working however every 5 minutes or so reads some garbage number without me scanning anything. The number are like "B00000700B".
why that is happening? radio-frequency interference? BTW we are next to the airport...
Thanks for your help.

I suppose if you're near a source of RF interference it is possible that you're getting some noise that is causing false reads. An airport seems like a highly RF noisy environment. Still, the protocol for the reader should typically minimize false reads. Must be excessive to get that.

It could be due to the airport radar. Had a similar problem (although much less frequent) with a computer that was about a KM from the airport. No way to be absolutely sure it was the radar, but shielding the wall between the computer and airport did eliminate the problem. Maybe you can try something similar.
