Here is Jon's demo for the BS2/BS2e/BS2sx, if this does't work then I think you have a hardware problem somewhere.

    Thanks, will test it tomorrow.

I don't have propeller, I have aside basic stamp, generous PIC programmer and some diy experiment board for it.

I have a question, when just powered up (red led on), this module should generate 32khz output, right?

    mine does not...

I'm pretty sure it has to be enabled before it will work, at least, that's the way the 3231 works. I don't think this chip does much of anything until after the initial programming. Also, are you actually using a pre-built board (module)? I can't see where you have mentioned anything other than DS1307.

Well, what I would do is disconnect everything, remove the battery, short the battery connections (+VBat to ground), power it up with no battery, and try one of the demo programs. If that doesn't work, then there's probably something wrong with the board and you should complain to the seller.

Keep in mind that this board, probably made in China, fully assembled with eeprom and battery, was sold for $1 less than the 1000 quantity price of the DS3231 alone.

IIRC, you must set the time on the chip before trying to read it. I think I tried several different DS1307 chips before I realized this.

From the description of the original part: The module comes fully assembled and pre-programmed with the current time. Probably China time. Per piacere, qualcuno pu

Yes, but just for the sake of clarity, I believe the first time CuriousOne mentioned a module was post #34.

Thanks, Erco - I just bought 4 of them for $1.56 each, shipped! I don't really need them, but I can think of a few projects where they'll come in handy...

HTH, Jason. And congrats on being the newest leader of the "find it for less than erco did" club. :)

    Amanda, you're snoozing! Surely there's a 10-pack out there for $15!

Edit: $1.55 here, and EXTRA 5% OFF WHEN YOU BUY 3 OR MORE, that's $1.47: Booyah!
