·Hi, I'm a newbie to robotics and just finished the Robotics With the Boe-Bot text. I am now designing my own robot and want to know what works best. Send me a message. Bye!

Many different types of materials are effective. What is the purpose of your robots? A small lightweight robot could use sintra from solarbotics. A medium to large robot could use plywoods from widths for about 1/16" to 1/8". I like birch plywood. For real heavy duty 'bots, I generally aluminum. It is soft enough to work with, but still strong enough for most hobby robots. Good luck with your 'bot!
