Just curious....
I assumed that all of the U.S. observed daylight savings time.
Up here in the Great White North (hear cuckoo bird theme from Strange Brew), the only province that doesn't abide is Saskatchewan...but what do you expect from such an odd name province! (joking!).

Anyhow, All I'm getting at is that the server time here seems to be an hour ahead still!!

Actually, there are a couple states that don't change their clocks; I believe Arizona and Indiana are among those that don't spring forward or fall back.

I'd say they are the smart ones. DST makes no sense to me whatsoever.
In the modern 24-hour way-of-life there is no need for it.

Well, I guess it's an adjustment to daylight.

I know up here in Canuckland...as winter approaches our days get quite a bit shorter....to the point that in an 8hour workday, you are pretty much leaving in the dark and getting home in the dark....

Guess they want to make sure that the primetime sun hours occur during work.

I agree...I guess it's a good thing we don't have to adjust other forms of measurment based on the time of year.· Imagine if during Thanksgiving we fell back on pounds to compensate for the extra pounds we put on during Thanksgiving, then added some back on in the Summer?!?

BTW, on a BS2-note...This just reminded me to check my Home-Brew Digital Thermostat which has been running a DS1302 and DS1620 off a BS2 faithfully for awhie now, and I just realized it's an hour ahead!· Guess Dallas doesn't subscribe to DST either!· Perhaps I should hard-code the time changes in as well...

    FYI....
    http://webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/b.html said...
Daylight Saving Time, for the U.S. and its territories, is NOT observed in Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, most of the Eastern Time Zone portion of the State of Indiana, and the state of Arizona (not the Navajo Indian Reservation, which does observe). Navajo Nation participates in the Daylight Saving Time policy, due to its large size and location in three states.

DalSemi can't really subscribe to it too easily since they have no idear where their chips are gonna be used. The world, where it does subscribe to DST, does not subscribe uniformly. Then again, you can always keep time in UTC and not worry 'bout the problem. rolleyes.gif

Yeah, I was just messing around about DalSemi...But I do think it's a strange thing, DST...Although appliances are getting caught up with the times...My VCR, TV, Watch, Microwave and Computer all changed automatically...

My clocks on the other hand...Oh, and my phone/answering machine and my stove clock all needed to be changed...Let's not forget the clock in the cars (On the radio).· Oh well...
