I was working on a project for school and something terrible happened to my stamp. Not even sure what happened. I am like 90% sure I hooked nothing up to Vin.

Now the Basic Stamp editor says there is no basic stamp even with nothing hooked up to the board. The green light stays on. The chip gets very very very hot. The school is trying to soak me for almost 100 bucks for a new one (In Canada). It was just purchased in September.

Anyone got any ideas?

Is this covered under warranty?

    At this point, either call or email Parallax technical support. From the www.parallax.com home page, select either Phone Support or Email Support from the Support menu. If it turns out that your module is fried and not under warranty, you might also try speaking with someone in the sales department. The sales person might have some pointers for obtaining a replacement BASIC Stamp for less than $100. For example, I just went to www.hvwtech.com, and found a BASIC Stamp 2 module for 54.95 CAD.
