Grind it off carefully with a Dremel(-like) tool and a small grinding
wheel, or carbide disk (which will slice it) parallel with the shaft.

    Here's my favorite method.

    Materials needed.
1 - Thin piece of hard steel.
    ahh.. metal putty knife?

    1 - Hacksaw (thin blade).
    Sorry no substitutes for this

    1 - Steel pipe.
ID as needed so motor fits freely inside and twice
as long as the motor. 1/2" 3/8" drive socket?

1 - Drive Punch with VERY small diameter.
Your not likely to find this item so a push pin, the
type with the plastic head will do nicely.

1 - Hammer. Mabey that 3/8" ratchet from the socket set above ;>

    A. Use the hacksaw to cut a narrow slot about 1/4" deep into
the an edge of the thin steel plate.

    B. Slip the pager motor shaft into the slot in the
steel. (motor on one side weight on the other)

    C. Place this assembly with the motor into the pipe.
(You may want to tape the wires of the pager motor
around the body to protect them from getting pinched.)

    D. Place pipe on hard surface.

    E. Insert sharp end of push pin into hole on end of weight
so it is against the end of the motor shaft.

    F. Tap lightly with hammer until motor falls out.

    Best of luck..
    Mike

    thanks,

I think I'll tap it out, maybe a sacrificed-china drill bit #0 will do it as
    a punch.

What about that dinky little plug, any leads...

    Sorry mine didn't have plugs.
I clipped two pins from a .1 header and soldered the leads to them.

I use a file to grind down the smallest side of the weight. Other use stiff
metal and a hammer to beat the shaft out. Good tutorial on

Wow! That cool. That's the best sounding method yet. You have pictures? Want
to write a short tutorial briefing?
