They are selling them in their Stores.

They are stocking up for Christmas already and have pallet loads of Robosapiens in the mix of toys.

Christmas shopping in August? only in America.

I did a Google search -- Robosapien @ $89.99USD 67 functions and 4 programing modes, a r/c controled robot. Looks great, but not exactly for a take apart, built it yourself kind of knowledge seeker.

It looks more useful for the geek that programs the VCR clock and every other function in the old homestead.

But, I may be wrong... Could be the next Rubix cube. Where is Santa in August any way? I thought the North Pole melted.

And the Robosapien is designed with [friendly] hacking in mind. If I'm not mistaken, there was an article with the creator in a recent edition of Servo magazine.

The interview was with creator Mark Tilden (of MIT, NASA, BioBug, etc..) fame and was in the last two issues of SERVO. The 'bot is VERY hackable. Best Buy has 'em for $99.00.

Forgive the sarchasim, but the advertising offers very little information and none about being hackable.

I just assumed it was something like ABIO - cute but untouchable.

They really need their own web site to present details or provide the retail web sites with a PDF. I imagine you can only read so much on the outside of a box.

We'll see...

Think-Geek ships quite fast... even across the pond...
(I was saving up for the next generation of Basic Stamp, but... )

One week to reach Norway...
Three weeks to pass Customs...

It's going to be one veeeeery long month...

Google is your friend when it comes to the RoboSapien. Its main site is www.robosapienonline.com.
'
www.robosapien.tk is one of the more "excited" of its proponents.

This web site has some photos of a disassembled robosapien and its main board:

Also links to similar info.

Bought my Robosapien about a month ago and·he is a neat little guy! Had about $70 worth of best buy bonus rewards burning a hole in my pocket. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a low dollar bot with a good number of features.

Cool....

When you use 'power off' from the remote he utters the word 'Rosebud' before powering off...

And the dance?
It's like a deranged robotic version of Travolta.
(This will REALLY annoy my sister. )

Yeah, it managed to pass through Norwegian customs in record time.
