6.25 Mhz crystal

I have a Propeller Proto Board 3212, I think it's REV A.

I replaced the crystal with a 6.25 MHZ (251-06250) crystal.

Everything works fine with SPIN tool, but I can't load the software from the "SimpleIDE" (C compiler).
I get an error 1.

Does anyone know of a fix ?
Where do I find the meaning of the loader error messages ?

  • Simple IDE assumes a 5MHz crystal with 16x PLL (80MHz). That's as much as I know -- like you, I'd like C to run at 100MHz.
  • Like Jon says, boards are hard coded for default crystals. The Hydra and C3 are set for 10 MHz crystals because that's what they were designed with. Parallax never put out a product with the 6.25 MHz crystal, although many of us have upgraded to them.
You could also shoot off an email to support@parallax.com with the question.
  • Is is possible to create a custom board profile?

Many Thanks. I'll send an email to "support".
