    Pretty cool! Pretty sure I see something break off in super slow-mo at 0:47.

    PUFFER=Pop-Up Flat Folding Explorer Robots

    I swear it's all about having a neat acronym these days. I'm sure some grant-funded bots start with nothing but a bitchin' abbreviation and work backwards from there.

    Of course, the ultimate acronym has been around for a while: TWAIN. Beat that!

    I wonder if NASA developed their own controller for this bot? A BS2 or Propeller off the shelf, could handle this task with ease. There is no science on board, but there is some room for it. That may be the hardest part, to equip this small robot with usefull instruments.

    How many of us want to submit our robots to a fall from 10 feet (3 meters).

  • I had found a picture of whats inside, no Arduino I hope. Interesting hinge system on the circuit boards.

    Have you ever seen glass boards formed at right angles like that? Print traces sandwiched in the middle would survive, but not on the surface. Traces on the surface would probably buckle or crack. Man that is the way to design, thorough R&D, and then create version 1.0.
