RFID Card Reader USB (#28340) – LED

Just got my RFID Card Reader USB (#28340) today. :smile:

I use it on Mac OS X 10.10.x with XOJO 2016R3.
It is working fine so far.

There is just a little thing I cannot understand...
When I plug the USB cable, the led is on and green.
When I connect the serial port with the RFID Card Reader, the led color changes to red, and I can read the tags.
When I then close the serial port, the connection seems to be closed, no tag reading is possible anymore but the led is remaining red.

Trying to change the DTR line did not change anything.
As I said, actually everything is working fine except the color of the led.
I did not [have to] install a special driver, it just worked out of the box and this really made my day.
So if this is the cause of the problem I prefer to live with the red led instead of installing additional drivers.

    The LED changes as the RFID Reader is enabled/disabled via DTR. So it sounds like the DTR is remaining enabled when you close the port. With the port closed you wouldn't receive serial data, however I don't know about changing the DTR line with the port close on a Mac.
