Thanks Mike, I was using common core math where 32=20. Actually, decimal 32=20 hex. And Octal 32=20 in Base 13, my birthday and favorite number. The sun was in my eyes. My tongue got over my eye teeth and I couldn't see what I was saying. Am I off the hook yet?
  • Looks like crowd funding for some deserving venue.
  • At fifty bucks each, not a bad deal considering the parts boxes.

Boxes are OK, but nothing much compared to a blinky LED USB cable. :)

    WOW! That is a bunch-o-bots!
  • With not knowing what these BS2 modules have been through, it would be a good idea to check them. Chris has a solution for that on his website:

Agreed, and Chris shows some clever and minimalist hardware & methods there. At the extreme limit of minimalism, Tracy Allen demonstrated a method of testing without any hardware at all. In fact, any attached hardware may mess up the test.

    That is great.

Every day I run in to something new and interesting in old posts on these forums, I may never catch up with it all. A diagnostic in software should be included with the board, module, chip or in OBEX, way to useful not to be in the toolbox. Is there anything like that for the Propeller?

EDIT: Careful erco, don't accidentally light up a bush or something, could lead to bigger problems.
  • One thing that's disappointing about this eBay auction is that it indicates some school will no longer be using BOE-bots in their classroom. Let's hope they moved on to ActivityBots instead of something else.

Historically speaking, a burning bush has occasionally been a good thing, even an outright miracle! :)

    Very good point, David.

Seller's reply to "why are you selling?":

Hi. Funny I had almost the same question yesterday from someone interested. My family moved and so i had to leave the robotics teaching behind. I am not seeing a chance in the future to use these at my new school so it is taking a lot of space. Just downsizing overall and also letting them go. Thanks for the interest

Well, that's not as bad as I thought. At least he's offering someone else a chance to use them again. Thanks for posting that.

erco, I wish I was able to pay a visit during the holiday, trick or treat! I bet you give out gummy bear's.

Hope to see the BoeBots end up in an educational environment again, it sounds like a teacher has a good start to give each student a way to organize his or her's own work, it gives all student's a level playing field to start with. Did anyone ask about the extra's?

I keep the gummi bears for myself...

This didn't sell, relisted for the same $1600 at http://www.ebay.com/itm/Classroom-Parallax-Boe-Bot-Robot-Set-32-working-boe-bots-MORE-Church-Program/322273483362

Also five classic S1 Scribblers for sale at http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-of-5-Programmable-Scribbler-Robots-BASIC-Stamp-2-robitics-education-/122161819723 Looks cheap except that $62 shipping charge, which puts the per-bot price at $24 or higher (auction). I've occasionally bought single S1's for less than that, so this is not not a must-have deal unless you need 5 "robits" ASAP (but only 2 cables).

    I calculate $82.94, (it's for the lot). That's a great price for a school!

Jim, thanks for pointing out that shipping costs decrease the closer you are to Salem, New Hampshire. The $62 charge I saw was to Los Angeles.
