How do I use an XBee with a Propeller mini?

How do I wire an XBee 802.15.4 (product 32405) up to a Propeller mini on a breadboard? I am new to robotics and do not know too much about wiring, and I would like to try to put a Propeller mini on a breadboard (and use a Prop plug to program it) and use an Xbee with it in order to have it communicate with another robot (which uses a Propeller activity board). My goal is to control the robot with a joystick, like the project on learn.parallax.com/project/joystick-controlled-activitybot , but using a Propeller mini instead of a second activity board.

The data in and out can go to the same pins on the mini as they are on the activity board. That is DI to P8 and DO to P9. Do keep in mind that you will also need to add an ADC to the breaddboard for the joystick since there is none on the mini. Best to use the same one as on the activity board to be software compatible.

If your interested in talking to an xBee over ZigBee with the mini check out my January Nuts and Volts article. There is also a board you can order that connects the Propeller mini with an xBee. The board is $7 you have add the mini and the xBee but it connects everything up for you.
