Basic Stamp 2 detected but not responding. Check power.

in BASIC Stamp
I am trying to connect. I am running a Mac osx 10.10.4 using the usb cable that came with my kit. All i get is "Basic Stamp 2 detected but not responding. Check power."

How do i go about fixing this?

    Which board are you using and how are you powering it? Weak batteries (or battery) are a common problem.

    I have the BS2 rev J STAMP on the BOE-BOT Board of Education USB Rev D. powered by 4AA's that are fresh out of the box.

    I am going to look and see if i have some type of power adapter that i can use to power the board instead of batteries, not sure if i have any though.

    OK using google i found a post that had the same issue and i used it to find the fix.

    The fix was that I installed the recommended USB FTDI driver on both MACs and it then recognized the STAMP.

    I don't l know why the post didn't come back when i searched all the forums, so i must appologize for that.
