Project Soli's talking trash about being the ultimate HID. Should I cancel development on my mechanical 1 PPR encoder project?

Just as centuries of school children have used their classroom dictionaries to look up and underline the naughty words, the first users of this device will check out which finger gestures it knows. And I'm not talking about the Vulcan hand sign, neither. (But while we're all at it, LLAP.)

It seems like it would be expensive. How much do you suppose that would cost?

So what well known hand gesture do you suppose the logo on the chip represents?

Childish jokes aside, this looks really cool!

Yes, nifty - tho the results look simulated.

Key questions are the 'How much's" - How many $ and how many mA ?

It has applications in areas where optical may struggle, like bathrooms, and if it can sense fingers thru gloves, that opens another application area.

I assume it isn't cheap though it looks good.
