No data from gps

Hello,

I have a parallax GPS unit. Recently, I used it in a project and it worked fine. However, now I cannot get any serial signal from it. I have even reverted back to the trial program with no results and tried both floating /RAW and pulling it low. The light on the gps flashes and it gets a fix, but outputs no data.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'd start by calling tech support on Monday.

Buddie – Have you made any changes to your circuit? Since the GPS module requires a fair amount of current you may have a power problem. How are you powering the board? Which board are you using?·

I removed the gps from my circuit and put it on a BOE to test. It is powered by a 2 amp wall adapter.

    Buddie,

The 5 volt power supply (VDD) on the BOE is derived·from an LM2940, conservatively rated at 1 Amp. If you are powering the GPS module from VDD on the BOE and the remainder of your circuit functions properly, you can deduce that the power supply is not your problem.
