Hi

I have a propeller dev board linked to a Lynxmotion dual bridge module. This module uses the L298 chip.

I am using a software object suitable for this chip which I downloaded from the propeller website. Everything appears to be connected correctly but the setup makes a great deal of noise - source - the connected drive motor. I never see rotation as such but the motor does appear to try and turn.

Now to the questions.

I have connected the propeller outputs (3.3V) to the bridge (which expects TTL levels) does anyone think a pull up resistor would help? Do I need a series current limiting resistor as well?

The motor is built into a Tamiya tank drive system which includes quite a bit of gearing. I don't think this is a problem as a battery applied straight to the motor provides great acceleration.

Regards

Jeff

Well it seems the amount of friction in the tank gearbox is the problem. I tried the EMC on another robot and things work fine. Still a bit of a whine from the motors though!
