Hi, I'M A NEWBE AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING.

I found this cool looking Dataq DI-190 Serial Data Acquisition Module at the
thrift store today for 0.50 cents. http://forums.parallax.com/images/smilies/hop.gif

http://www.dataq.com/index.html

It's kinda a obso model, but it seems to be working ok.

I downloaded the software and it installed it, and it works. I got it set on com1.

Here are the i/o lugs.

CH0
CH1
DIG
GND

Here's the pictures.

The scope software

the module

QUESTION
How would I hook it up to the propeller ? Can I do that ?
Would I just hookup a pin to CH0/1 or should I use the DIG channel?

Where would GND go ?

Under the Channel 0/1 settings there's a ...
-FS Volts = -5.0000 & +FS Volts= 5.0000

Will I blow my propeller up If I hook it up ?

How do I use it ?

Thanks,
-Areal Person

Voltage is a measurement taken between two points, tie the GND lug to the GND of your system under test, this provides a common reference for you measurements. CH1 and CH2 are analog input that are used to read points of interest, the DIG is for a digital input ie High or Low but is designed for 5V input so it wont help you much.

The module is designed to only passively read things, so theres not much risk of blowing up you Propeller.
