Has anyone used Basic Stamp to simulate haptic feedback?· I'm thinking that the·4-Phase / 12 Volt Unipolar Stepper Motor might be able to be used to quickly rotate a off balanced weight to create a vibration.

Thoughts?

If all you want is vibration, a stepper would be overkill and probably wouldn't rotate fast enough anyway. (At 200pps, you'd only get 250 RPM.) I'd just use a DC motor with the eccentric weight. If you need to vary the feedback intensity, you can vary the motor speed.

I'm a little new with this whole thing. Where do I order the DC motor and how do I hook it up to the education board that I have. If you don't know, that's ok. Thanks for the response.

If the vibrators used in pagers are adequate, there are a ton of these on the surplus market. Just enter pager vibrator motor surplus in Google to find them. How you hook one up will depend on the voltage and current it requires.

Is this somthing like you're talking about?

Yeah, that's the idea.
