Hey guys,

I'm pretty new to the whole microcontroller/basic experience. I was wondering if anyone could point me to some literature on how to connect a DS 1620 temperature monitor and display the temp on a 2X16 Hitachi lcd screen (the one included in the stamp works kit). I also would like to be able to display readouts from ADC 0831 on the lcd screen as well.

Just to clarify I am able to display text on the lcd screen. I am able to display temp on my laptop, as well as view the readout of the ADC on my laptop. I'm not just sure how to display it on the actual lcd module.

Any help would be *greatly appreciated* :)

As usual with all Parallax-sold products, there are App Notes, sample programs, and detailed documentation available. Go to the webstore page for the product and follow the links. There's an App Note for the DS1620. The "Basic Analog and Digital" tutorial downloadable from the Stamps in Class section of the website has a lot of material on the ADC0831. Similarly, look at the webstore page for the display (you didn't say whether it's a serial or parallel display ... both have datasheets and examples).

If you have specific questions after you've gone through some of this material, please post them. The documentation will answer most of your questions and give you good starting points for your programs.
