in case of max232 we have got to connect a charge pump capacitor(1microfarad) externally to the max232.
Is there an inbuild capacitor in case of max232N?
can we use them as a substitute of one another?

Max233 is completely self contained.

Read the docs. I suspect the 232N uses 0.1 uF caps, but I'm not sure. Could also be the max baud rate is higher for the 232N.
