I haven't quite mastered Ohm's Law just yet, so can someone tell me what resistor would be best to run to a simple bicolor LED from a 9V?
P.S. I'll be BLEEPed off if one of you Dumb BLEEPing Parallax people give me some dumb BLEEPing link to some previous blog of this same question. I don't want to have to go research it, that's why I'm asking you!
Thank you!

Wow.....atitude.....

I doubt anyone will answer. This follows the old phrase" give a man a fish....he'll eat for the day. Teach the man to fish.....he'll eat for life."

No one is going to do the work for you.......they will teach you how to do the work. So if I were you, I would take any reference they respond with.

Well......it seems as though no one wants to help you out......

But I'll post this link....do with it as you will.

Hope this helps....but if it doesn't ........sorry.

If you have questions as to how to actually use this link....post them....I'm sure more than one person will help you understand the intricate workings for your future reference.

This link shows a wiring diagram with a resistor value:

I've also attached an image for you to look at.

Looks like you were sleeping during a lot more than the Electronics Fundamentals class.....

Do you want one of us BLEEPers to come over to your house and install it for you too ?

I feel bad that you had a bad experience. Whenever I have asked for advice, members of this forum have been very helpful in my education and mastery of the subject. Sometimes·this help has either been an explanation of an answer or helping me find the resources so that·I can better understand. The most helpful thing provided by members of this forum is helping me learn so that I can ask a different question later.

Mr. Richard,
While I admire your diplomatic stance - I have to say that there is absolutely no excuse for such a post (initial post) on a forum where everybody works to help out anybody where possible. I also find it difficult to stomach the manner in which the 'request' for help was made in the initial post -

Does a 'bad experience' mean that the aforementioned person has so much extra work to do now that they have to click on a link and read it.Rather than read a forum reply directly ? - its ridiculus to think that this could warrant such a post.

Look at all those dedicated forum users who dedicate their time to help solve other peoples problems - such 'rants' are an insult to these people. What other I.C or uMicrotroller manufacturer has the company CEO and chief designer answering posts ?

An apology is well in order here ...

Congrats Dave (Parallax) and Mr. Richard.....
for diplomatically answering such an angrily put question.

The question still remains, forgetting ohms law on one hand and attempting to make a microprocessor interface with the outside world,
both concepts are floating around here.... it scares me to think that a "yellow purple brown" may stand in the way of Stephen Hawking like genius!

Let us only hope that Volts aren't mistaken for Coulombs and Amperes not mistaken for Teslas and Watts not mistaken for Ohms..

I'd tell him the value of the 'bleepin' resistor is
32 Coulombs per fortnight per liter squared and then give him my phone number....
1-800-555-1212 if he needed some help....

I'm sorry, but I went to college to learn how to teach myself, to learn that when you ask a really easy question that you should have already known,
all the profs and most of the TA's will promptly ignore you, some throw a book at you, few will answer such simple questions.....

But, once again... the forums provide help!
John
