What is the proper way to mount those snap-in aluminum electrolytic capacitors? Any pictures?

Lightfoot,

These type caps were usually big electrolytics used in power supply designs. The connector was mounted in the chassis and the caps twist-locked into them or snapped sideways into sort of a keyhole connector.

Unless you can find an old chassis with a suitable connector to rob, you're probably going to have to go the the can manufacturer.

Alternatively, you can probably solder a couple of pig-tails to the connectors; or, some cap connectors looked sort of like a nail-head and a 1/4" push on connector would slide right on.

Cheers
