What protocol would I use to talk between linux box & bs2 board.

ppp or slip or something.

The Stamps use serial communication.· On your linux box, you need to send data to your serial port.· If using a USB adapter, the stamp still sees a serial port and I think to your computer, the USB adapter is a serial port as well.·

Note:· If you need to use a USB adapter for PROGRAMMING the stamps, please use one of the recommended ones.· The Parallax one or a certain Keyspan model, but I don't have the model number in front of me.· Most of the other ones will not work.

For·communications only, any adapter should work.

ppp or slip are for doing Ethernect connections over a serial port. The BS2 is WAY too simple to do an ethernet connection.

So in Linux you'd simply open a serial port, then send and recieve bytes over that port.
