Hello. Recently I got a new PC.
One strange thing I've noticed is that while the RS232 is connected to the development board (either NX1000 or BS2p20/40 demo board), the downloaded program does not run. If I unplug the RS232 cable, and press Reset, then everything works.

The only problem is that I cannot use DEBUG.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems? What is the fix?

Thanks.

Hello,

Are you able to confirm that the ATN or RES line is not toggling? This would indicate the BASIC Stamp is being reset.

I'm not sure how to do that.
However, the problem only occurs when I'm connected via docking station. When laptop is directly connected to RS232 cable, then all is fine.

I think something must be wrong with the docking station.

A logic probe, logic analyzer or Scope could be used to verify activity on these lines. Optionally you can try to measure the voltage at the RES pin.

Chris,

I do own a Parallax USB Scope. But how do I access the ATN line on my NX1000 board? Where can I easily & safely insert a wire to access ATN pin?

Thanks.

Chris, now you won't believe this, but just now, EVERYTHING works OK.

Not sure what I did...but it is OK...for now.

Strange…In the future you can simply connect the black lead to ground and then touch the Blue probe to the ATN pin on the Stamp Module. Same applies for the /RES pin.
