In the current Servo mag, I bumped into this really cool - what appears to be a landroving robot. Anybody knows who makes these or owns this. It appears to have some actuators on each of the wheels and quite a bit of gear on-board.

All that fancy metalwork, and it looks like it's using rolls of strapping tape — or just the cardboard cores — for tires!

Those tan "tires" are not cardboard - they are rubber strips glued to the wheels.

The angle of the cuts of rubber glued on to the wheels look well thought out for a quick project. I would tend to think a snap fit insertion type of tire would be more professional looking considering the complexity of the rest.
